Mis à part Paris, les autres villes n'ont que très rarement accueilli des lieux de tournage continu: Nice, outre l'abondance des studios pendant les années du muet, a connu avec la Victorine une activité constante qui s'est poursuivie jusqu'à nos jours.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;P&#62;Les circonstances de la naissance des studios en 1919 et la description de leur développement au cours des années vingt avaient déjà fait l'objet d'études mais celles-ci étaient incomplètes. C'est le mérite de ce livre que de s'appuyer sur des sources solides, au premier rang desquelles les archives de Serge Sandberg qui, plus que Louis Nalpas, fut le véritable responsable de la naissance de la Victorine.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;P&#62;Ainsi, de &#60;em&#62;La Sultane de l'amour de&#60;/em&#62; René Le Somptier à &#60;em&#62;Baroud&#60;/em&#62; de Rex Ingram, entre 1919 et 1930, une page de l'histoire du cinéma s'écrit sur les hauteurs de Nice, une page assez romanesque, avec tous les ingrédients qui font les bons scénarios, un projet grandiose, le choc avec une dure réalité, la fin d'un rêve et l'avènement d'une gestion qui a renoncé aux grandes ambitions.&#60;/p&#62;</Text>
